The Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Mr Thomas
Chow and The Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Mr Jean-Pierre
attend The Deep exhibition opening ceremony at the Hong Kong Science
Museum. Hong
Kong.
Covering more than 70% of the Earth’s surface, the ocean is
the cardle of all life. The deep sea, which occupies 85% of the space, has been
immersed in total darkness yet we know little about it. Only very recently have
we developed the technology necessary to journey to this dark world, and what
we have found there could not have been imagined.
“The Deep” invites visitors to peer into the abyss teeming
with life that is beyond our reach and imagination through the latest scientific
research with amazing colour imagery.
More than 30 specimens and 60 photo, many of which are taken
for the very first time, depict the various unfamiliar and fragile ecosystems
existing in the realm.
The exhibition will run at the Science Museum
from July 11 to November 12.

big-boat sailors, the Hong Kong Team competed on three boats, namely Yeoman
of Wight, Holmatro and Orient Express, skippered by Jamie McWilliam,
Marty Kaye and Rick Strompf/Inge Strompf-Jepsen respectively. The Team
finished

Jarno Trulli in testing at Hockenheim
Jarno Trulli took over from
Timo Glock to conclude Panasonic Toyota Racing's three-day test programme at
Hockenheim. Like Timo on Wednesday, Jarno used a ‘shark fin' engine cover for
his installation lap to test the stability of the configuration but then reverted
to a standard engine cover as a base for the day's testing. Jarno focused on
the upcoming German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, working on different aerodynamic
set-ups as well as getting experience of the medium and hard Bridgestone
Potenza tyres in use next weekend. He enjoyed a reliable day's running and
finished with 129 laps in the book. The team's next action also comes at
Hockenheim, when practice for the German Grand Prix begins next Friday.
