由中國香港體育協會暨奧林匹克委員會(港協暨奧委會)主辦、康樂及文化事務署資助及三星電子香港有限公司連續第二年冠名贊助的「Samsung 2014年度香港傑出運動員選舉」於今天(1月10日) 假香港文化中心舉行公眾投票記者招待會，並由今天起接受公眾投票。今天出席的嘉賓包括港協暨奧委會義務秘書長彭冲先生SBS、康樂及文化事務署助理署長 (康樂事務)黃達明先生、冠名贊助商三星電子香港有限公司巿務總裁周文榮先生、及港協暨奧委會副會長兼Samsung 2014年度香港傑出運動員選舉籌備委員會主席劉掌珠女士BBS, JP。多位候選運動員及隊伍亦到場呼籲巿民踴躍投票。

港協暨奧委會收到來自47個體育總會，共120份提名表格，競逐六個獎項，其中「香港傑出運動員」、「香港傑出青少年運動員」、「香港最佳運動隊伍」及 「香港最佳運動組合」四個項目將會接受公眾投票。一如以往，八位得獎的「香港傑出運動員」中，得票最高的一位可同時獲得「Samsung星中之星香港傑出 運動員」大獎。所有獎項結果將於2015年3月16日假香港會議展覽中心大會堂舉行的「Samsung 2014年度香港傑出運動員選舉」頒獎典禮上揭曉。

香港巿民可以由今天起至2015年2月9日期間，瀏覽本活動網頁http://sportstar2014.hkolympic.org/ 進行投票，支持自己心目中的香港傑出運動員/青少年運動員/隊伍/組合。

Sabelle Siyun Li was Singapore’s heroine in the last eight clash against Hong Kong.

She was the player who secured a semi-final place for her team; she was the player who has guaranteed the south east Asian city state a minimum bronze medal. At least the the same colour as in Tokyo is assured.

Amazing Feeling
Matters level at two matches apiece against Hong Kong, Isabelle Siyun Li faced Lee Ho Ching, she won the first two games then lost the next two before winning a tension packed decider (11-9, 11-8, 8-11, 8-11, 11-8).

"The feeling I have now is amazing, I can’t believe I won, it has not yet sunk in.” reflected a quite bemused Isabelle Siyun Li. “After I lost my two-nil lead and the match was tied at two-two, I told myself to start the match over again and forget about it, I couldn’t let myself be affected."
