各位朋友：
在我和太太離開禮賓府之前，我想再一次向香港市民感激及多謝他們多年來給我們的支持。
香港是我家，能夠服務香港市民是我最大的歡樂，能夠成為特首更是畢生的榮譽。
在過往七年，我和香港市民一起經歷過的日子，有喜、有悲、有起、亦有跌、有成功、亦有失敗，但我一定不會忘記。
在未來的日子，縱有不同的挑戰，但我深信憑藉香港人的拼搏、務實精神，一定可以再創高峰。我也衷心祝願下任特首和他的團隊，能夠帶領香港，再創光輝的明天。
